Always dependably special. Always excellent service and food. My kids LOVE coming here. They treat kids really well, especially for fine dining. Really great for taking overseas visitors. Never noisy , even when full.
Always fresh seafood and great staff

This place is close to my heart. My husband and I used to go to Hammerheads a little bit before we went overseas and it served us well, with my love for seafood and my husband always on the search for a great steak. So it was an obvious choice for our wedding reception. We last went there for our one year anniversary and they never fail to dissapoint! The seafood is always so fresh and so perfectly cooked and there is always a good selection of wines. Plus the view is fantastic from the restaruant, bar or deck. We rave about the place to friends, to the point someone just bought us a gift voucher to go again!

Lunch today on a whim. Great location by the water. Had the Market Fish, John Dory. It was beautiful to look at and really tasty. My other half had the Game Fish, yellow fin tuna cooked medium. She really enjoyed it too. this was all accompanied by great Chardonnay from west Auckland.
The service was great with the right amount of enthusiasm. Will definitely be back. We thoroughly recommend the seafood at this restaurant.

had a dinner there last night as a wedding anniversary celebration, the place was excellent. We had a seared scallop as a main, the scallop was very tasty, just a little bit odd as they came in kebab sticks but they very juicy and yummy. Also had a beef fillet, very nice as well with field mushroom and potato and oxtail gratin. We also got a great seat looking out to the bay and skytower, nice romantc dinner venue.

Went to Hammerheads on a Monday night. Restaurant about half full. Arrived at 8pm to no record of our booking. They recovered well and found us a nice window table. Waiter seemed to be in training but he was attentive. The kingfish special no longer available when we asked for it.
Had seared scallops and bluff oysters for the entree and both were excellent. Ordered tuna on a crab salad as a main but arrived entree size. Other dish was snapped on a seafood medley.
Food at Hammerheads was excellent though desert just good. Nice atmosphere, and good ambience. They rush you though so I suggest you tell them to slow down. Otherwise the main will arrive less than 5 minutes after the entree and same goes for the desert after the main.
Would go back though because seafood outstanding.

Child Friendly Extremely

Went here for a belated birthday dinner on a week night so the place was relatively empty. However, with all the tables available they sat us, a couple, beside an Asian family. The 2 children were up and down taking photos and generally being a nuisance. In our case the restaurant was too child friendly!! We were there for a nice relaxing dinner. As we went out I did mention to the staff that it had been very distracting to be placed so close to this family. Hopefully, they will know for any future guests. Otherwise, we always enjoy the quality of the food at this restaurant.

Went to Hammerheads mid Dec with the whole family for a christmas lunch. The food and service were absolutely superb, we couldn't fault anything! We had breads and dips, mains & desserts. The food portions were more than acceptable for lunch. We had a variety of snapper, tuna and salmon meals at the table and they were all raved about. Would definitely go back again, next time to try the dinner menu!

I am not a fish or seafood eater and took my seafood loving husband to Hammerheads. This was the nicest meal we have had in a long time. The food was devine. The venison was cooked perfectly and was a really good size meal. My husband had the fish of the day, John Dory and again was cooked to perfection. The service was second to none and were very friendly and welcoming. They ensured we had enough water and kept topping up both our water and our wine. A fantstic dining experience.

celebrated my 30th wedding anniversary last night - this is a lovely spot looking across the water (it wasn't raining). The food was delicious and the service very efficent although I felt the service was too quick. We had eaten our entree and main course within an hour - so much for a leisurely romantic dinner.

Went for lunch today while waiting for our movie. Outstanding! We had the lemon snapper and the seafood tasting platter. The tasting platter was the standout and the fennel salad we got on the side was delicious. Will definetley return again and again, we both agree one o the best meals we have had out in years

This is our third visit to Hammerheads, and it never disappoints.
We order the seared scallop entree x2 and although the size of scallops were very small, the flavors were fantastic. We then had two fish dishes, grilled snapper and market fish (also snapper I believe), and again, the meat was cooked perfectly and the flavors were very well balanced. The portions were quite adequate for us, so we couldn't have desserts.
P.S. The environment was very comfortable and spacious, whilst maintaining a warm atmosphere.
Keep it up Hammerheads!
