Good thing about Arizona is that it is open for lunch on Sunday. Most cafes in CBD are not. Close to Intercontinental Hotel, the restaurant has a lot of tourist patrons, could be interesting if you like people watching like me. Environment is pretty good with Mexican/American theme and a blend of bar/cafe/restaurant. Service was friendly and a bit too slow. It took 15 mins to get coffee and water and another 15 to have lunch. Coffee was not great, a bit watery. The two breakfasts that we had (Tex Mex and Arizona) were both uninspiring in taste and presentation. To their credit, the breakfasts were slightly different from other Kiwi cafes with a Mexican twist (corn bread, Mexican styled beans and hashbrowns). However, (maybe because they were delivered through a lift from the kitchen downstairs), they were not hot enough, looked bad and tasted hmm... bad and greasy. Alrighty, next time I will lunch somewhere else!!!

We popped in to Arizona for a quick bite before the Basketball last night (Wellington Saints won)Wahoo!!! The place was very busy but they managed to find us a table. We ordered quickly as we only had an hour and let them know this so we wouldnt be late. We ordered the Cajan Chicken burger & Beef Burger. Both came out in approx 20min which was good as we didnt have long. Delicous homemade style burgers. Not to big, fresh and with yummy chunky fries on the side. All in all we were impressed and will defiantly be back.

Went to Arizona for a friends birthday lunch, the service was unbelievable! 4 staff standing around behind the bar talking while I was waiting AT THE BAR! (for the milk for my coffee they said they would bring over). The food was ok, but I think you need somewhat of an aquired taste for the spices etc, huge meals with ok prices, but would think twice before going back. I have however found Arizona to be great for drinks after work.

We go to the Airzona on Friday nights for the people watching - it's great for that and if there is a game on a well then everything is fine. I cannot comment on anything but the Sol beer but that is kept fine and served with fresh slices of lime. We've had some good food here but the best value for money is the burger and fries. It is a lovely homemade burger - big and juicy served with salad cheese and bacon and the fries are always fresh cooked. For $17.00 you can't go wrong.

Avoid this place.
I took a colleague here for a working lunch this week. What a mistake!
The service was okay but let down by the fact we had three people ask if we were ready to order within three minutes of sitting down.
That would have been okay if the food was good. However it ws bad to the extreme. $17 for a pizza with hardly anything on it. Perhaps we paid all that money for the grease that was dripping off it?
Definately one to avoid

Breakfast here could be better. A lot better. Eggs Louisiana with stone cold salmon - which made the dollop of hollandaise cold too, I can handle. What I can't, is soggy toast due to too watery spinach, as well. To be fair they were busy and looked to be understaffed but I'm not making excuses for them, maybe dinner service is better?

My partner & I went to Arizona Bar & Grill tonight as it's part of The Little Red Book for Wellington.
We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who took us to our table. The place was full (it's Thursday night).
We ordered our drinks to begin with and they arrived within a couple of minutes.
We chose the Mini Chimichangas for a starter - fried mini burritos, served with sour cream - absolutely delicious.
For main, I choose the Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta and my partner - a New York Style steak.
The pasta was simply divine. The serving was huge and it was beautifully presented as well as perfectly seasoned.
The steak came with a large baked potato with sour cream on top as well as other steamed vegetables. It was cooked exactly like me partner wanted it - medium - and it tasted amazing.
We both struggled to finish our dishes.
The waitress came to check up on us and to offer us more drinks.
On a nearby table, there was a couple with a young child. A waitress promptly gave the little boy a book and crayons - an absolutely perfect touch.
Combined with the perfect location, overall, this was a very, very good experience and I will be definitely going back!!
Highly, highly recommended!!!

We called in here for a leaving lunch, we hadn't booked and despite in being fairly busy and there being 7 of us, they re-arranged the furniture and had a table ready for us in a few minutes. Although there were 7 of us, we only ordered 3 different meals - calamari, fish & chips and the burger. The calamari was a 'light' option and was still a very good size, but the amount of food you get is awesome! There were a few issues with gas for the coca-cola, but this was explained to us promptly. Definitely a great lunchtime venue!

Wellington were defending the shield, so I thought Arizona would be a good place for dinner on the way to the stadium. We were seated, ordered our food then began to wait, and wait, and wait. After 40 mins, I noticed tables that arrived after us were being fed, so asked a passing waitress what the story was and to our horror, the waitress forgot to put our order in! Needless to say, we weren't happy as the game was now starting in 35 mins, and we still hadnt gotten any food. The chefs rushed out our order (and it was obviously rushed, food was terrible), and we paid and ran. The manager gave us one of the meals free as compensation, but while a nice gesture, I would rather have had a nice, non stressed dining experience. And to make matters worse, Wgtn were terrible and we lost the shield :(

Big portions and friendly service. The hamburger had a tasty meat pattie with a hint of spice and the coffee was good. Overall a hearty no-frills lunch - good for the morning after a big night out!
