Simply Horrible! Worst meal I've ever had in Auckland. Given the location, my wife and I thought it couldn't be too bad when we saw the 'simple' menu on offer outside the restaurant. The decor was the first sign of things to come - old and very dated. Glass tumblers filled with packets of salt, pepper and sugar on the table. Uh Oh!! The service was average, with the waiter asking if we were ready to order food before we had ordered a drink. Now for the worst part - the food! For entree's my wife had the squid and I had the prawns. The squid was covered in a floury tasteless batter which fell off and came with sauce in a shot glass, which was also devoid of any flavour. The 6 small prawns I had looked like they had been thrown on a dirty hotplate and this was to be the extent of the flavouring for them. They came with a salad too large for an entree. (and, as it turned out - exactly the same salad that would come with my steak!) Yes - the steak, sirloin ordered with mushroom sauce. Although cooked reasonably well, the ramacans of gravy and mushroom sauce left me speechless. Why?! Because they were both straight out of a packet!! And the beer battered fries?! Not sure if they were McCain's or Watties! My wife had the Fajita which turned out to be the only thing with flavour - pity the chicken was dry! With a beer and a lemonade the only drinks ordered, this was $92 definitely wasted and with the Rugby World Cup just around the corner, I would hate to see Auckland judged by oversees visitors on this very disappointing restaurant.

We came here for Mother's Day and had a very nice lunch, sitting outside overlooking the water.
My parents both had the panfried snapper, and I had it battered. The snapper was fresh, cooked perfectly, and it was a generous portion. My husband had the fajitas, and this was a huge portion and very filling.
The service was friendly, my mother got a complimentary glass of bubbly, and we had a very nice time. We thought this lunch was value for money, but also of good quality, and we would come here again.

Today, we had lunch at the waterfront. My husband and I consider ourselves something of experts on Seafood Chowder. Today, we had the best chowder I have ever had ...... the presentation was superb, the service was quick.. efficient, and very friendly. most personable staff we have come across in a long time. We highly recommend the place,,, and sitting over the water dining is quite lovely.

Our group of eight waited for over an hour for our food and then we informed them we were on a tight schedule could they please look into to why it was taking so long. They came back to us promising us we would have it in two to four minutes .... after 13 minutes ( we were timing them by this stage ) we were totally fed up and said we were leaving. We have never done this before in our many years of eating out but our group were all very worked up by the fact that they promised us our food and they had been made aware that we had a tight schedule. Only one of the staff seemed to care and the one who promised us we would have our food in 2- 4 mins avoided us when we went up to say we just had to get going. So not a good experience had by us !

went with a group of friends last friday night. ordered orange roughy fish & chips (with salad) the fish was sitting on the chips / salad. the dish looked good but the fish was sitting on the chips/salad so its oil dripped down onto it. It was basically fish/chips/salad for $25 (not value for money) but it was ok. Friends had a seafood/pasta dish which they said was ok and my other friend had nacho's which he seemed to enjoy. their cocktail was quite nicely done (its name was japanese something..mostly made of madori/juice with a cherry) not too sweet. my friend & I shared a dessert - apple crumble & ice cream it came with a bit of cream & fresh fruit. the apple in the apple crumble was a bit sour and the apple in the "fresh fruit" tasted old (almost crumbly). the dish looked good but unfortunately did not taste so good. I expected more from a restaurant in the viaduct but was dissapointed, I do not recommend coming here considering the caliber of food just across the road.
