I have been here for client functions, but one morning my partner and I decided to go for breakfast. We were seated then a bottle of water "plonked" in front of us. After 15 mins and twice making eye contact with the 9 waitress we decided to walk out. I was absolutley appauled at the service (or lack there of) the ladies were busy talking to each other and even after making eye contact twice no one came over. Will never return

Oh, if there was ever a place to die and go to....
My partner and I decided to have a late lunch here on a week day. It was quiet and sedate, we were warmly greeted by a waiter who then offered us a number of seats - we decided to go for the one close to the fireplace and window.
It really was a pleasure inside the restaurant, although it wasn't terribly busy being a week day, it still had a lively vibe about it, but also a relaxing vibe. The waiter that served us was above exceptional, polite, to the point and very friendly. We both ordered our beverages and they arrived at a brisk place (again, this is lunch time on a week day, not exactly rush hour).
I ordered the Pan fried eye fillet steak, my partner ordered the Cajun chicken on toasted foccacia, we had a selection of breads and spreads as a starter.
Well, everything was just spot on. The bread was as fresh as can be and the spreads were just beautiful, the pesto was the winner of the spreads! Then came our mains, I have to say the steak was cooked beautifully to my request (medium-rare) and it was just, such a fine cut of meat. Really superb, the potatoes and herbs complimented it extremely well - my partner wasn't as enthused as I was about the meals but she mentioned it was still quite nice (if a bit too much), I'll admit I took a chip or two, and they were pretty good!
All in all, it was a great experience and I can't wait to return to see how they fare for dinner!

We had brunch at Soljans Estate today. We found that the meals were great in concept and in presentation however lacked in terms of implementation. The meals tasted a little bland and really lacked any wow factor. There was definitely no shortage of staff and whilst we did get good service with a smile, we often ended up with wait staff arriving at the table a few minutes after some of their peers had already asked the same question. Food arrived very quickly which was great, although we did have to prompt them to find out where one of our drinks was. We sat inside and noticed that there was a lack of music playing; a little bit would have been nice. In general, okay not nothing special.
