I have been eating here since I was 10 so could be slightly bias but exceptional, delicious food. Despite having been around the world to all sorts of restaurants, this remains my all time favourite. Rich French cuisine, served to your table in a quirky atmosphere. Cannot give this high enough praise. Login to vote x0 x0 | Add your feedback to this | Share on Facebook

Best french cuisine ever!! personal favourite, in the top 10 NZ restaurants.
as at September 2009, restaurant has not reopened due to fire earlier in the year.
Akaroa will not be the same. Hope owners will consider opening again in the near future. Login to vote x0 x0 | Add your feedback to this | Share on Facebook

Loved our dining experience here - would definitely go back! Initially, we were slighly taken aback by the rather disorganised and haphazard atmosphere and service, and being so close to the other tables, but as we settled in we really enjoyed ourselves. The food was fantastic - we had the pork and fish of the day, with scallops to start. My husband was delighted with the portion size of the meat - so big that we had no room left for dessert unfortunately. Only complaint was the tap water was terrible! Totally recommend this place as a very unique and memorable dining experience. Login to vote x0 x0 | Add your feedback to this | Share on Facebook

This was my first visit and won't be my last. What a quirky place. The food is French style and wonderful, the owners friendly and the venue itself unique. They give you a vivid marker to write messages etc on the wall when your done. Seating is cosy (tight)and sometimes shared due to the very small dining room and they have two dining times (6.30 pm and 8.30 pm). This works really well.
