I had a wonderful meal at Minami in February 2008. When I visited Dunedin recently I decided to go to this place again and I did not get disappointed. One can not expect first class Japanese cooking but everything is tasty and fresh and the value for money is just unbeatable. Beautiful seared tuna, raw salmon without layers of fat, yummy California sushi, deliciously fresh sashimi with radish - at the end we had a wonderful dinner for not even $30 per person, wine included. And as a guy from the North Island I appreciated the heater that kept us warm on a cool Dunedin spring night. Just one thing that needs improvement, the wine list is not worth being called a wine list. The little 123ml (or was it 132?) Montana Sauvignon blanc bottles reminded me of airline meals in the nineties.
