Sushi train is typically poor quality in New Zealand, but not at Wasabi.
The food is beautifully presented, and the flavours are simple and delicious as they should be.

Sushi trains are fun, I like sushi, this was pretty good sushi, fairly cheap and it looked pretty too - it's a recipe for success in my book! I love the notion of seeing the food first and deciding what to eat based on looks and not even necessarily knowing what it is you've chosen. I had a couple of things there that I still don't know what they were - all good! It was cool that they also had a fair amount of none sushi stuff, such as puddings on the train, or ice cream you could order. The place is a bit over-lit for evening dining, but that's my only criticism. Login to vote x0 x0 | Add your feedback to this | Share on Facebook

I love Sushi and loved the sushi served here, it was presented well with creative sguiggly mayo on some plates and other decorations which was nice to watch whirling around the conveyorbelt! Good selection...tuna roll, fried dumplings, vege fritters, seaweed, scallops and everything in between...YUM!!! Good price for amount on each plate with most plates around $3....good value for money considering other lunch boxes are up to $9 for 8 pieces elsewhere. The only complaint was the temperature-very hot inside and came out with our clothes smelling of cooking oil :( otherwise it was great. Food was really good for the price. They do many different Carlifornia style rolls, which love. My favorite was Gunkan style salmon caviar. Wasabi has a good mixture of traditional Japanese sushi and Carlifornia style sushi. This place is probably the only place in Wellington that serve good range of sushi. I will go back.
