Having heard about this place by so many friends, i thought that since my parents hadnt travelled up toward mangawhai and waipu before, this would be a good opportunity to experience the fine food that was raved about. It started really great having ordered a pizza to share, with wedges and Fush n Chups.(This is how they spell it on the menu) Unfortunately not even halfway throughout the meal of fush n chups there was a caterpillar in the salad very much alive and crawling around. After giving it back to the waitress she kindly asked what we wanted to do, our response was another meal with no salad. Without hestitation she quickly ordered another one. I complained to a gentleman about this (Who happened to be the owner) and he was none the less interested in refunding part or any of the meal stating it cost $30 to supply (we paid 18.50)and that they wash the salad twice (which he also commented was natural)before serving. In the end out came 2 pieces of fush with no chips and salad. - Not a very nice dining experience and i certainly wont be returning - Shame on you Pizza Barn surely you could of at least been a bit more apologetic in the handling of our complaint.

We went for lunch here on our way to a night at Waipu Cove, we chose here based on the previous reviews. The pizzas were beautiful, nice thin bases and loads of toppings, the only problem was choosing which ones to have. A great atmosphere to the place, I can imagine it is humming in summer. Definitely one to return to when next in the area.

won't have a single word against this place. Very well priced and compulsory stop when travelling. Pizzas are the best I've ever had. It's the tops.

Returned on New Years Day for lunch with friends. Top marks to management and staff. There was a surcharge for the public holiday, it was well advertised for this especially busy day and they had plenty of staff to cope. Exceptional quick service for the numbers there and the quality of food was to the normal high standard. Pat yourselves on your back as you were all pleasant and prepared for a busy day with the games on in Waipu, but you still maintained your high standards. We will keep coming back as a lot of places slip at busy holiday times but you all performed well.

Pizza Barn n Bar is our place of choice when our visitors travel up from Auckland and we met en-route. Well worth the trip their just to experience the mussel fritters. All our friends that have been there are equally impressed with the food. Staff most friendly and more that happy to discuss queries when asking what the house wine was. Great value for money. Food always scrummy. Children are more than welcome and there is even a ittle play area for them in the same overall theme. Do the detour through Waipu to experience this place, you won't be dissapointed.
