I went here on Monday night for dinner with a group of eight others and we had an enjoyable experience. The meals were huge and good solid pub meals. I had a large rib eye steak on the bone which was cooked rare as requested. For dessert I ordered apple pie (or something like that) and it came out as three small pies which was a bit bizarre; it did however taste ok. The food all arrived in a timely manner and was well priced.

We enjoyed another good meal at the S.A.H. recently having lunch there. The service was prompt, the meal arrived in timely fashion, hot and looking great. It was as we expected, tasty, and more than filling - if you wanted to eat the entire amount. It is truly value for money with a great menu selection to please any food tastes. The service is friendly and the views are fantastic. We will be back!

Had breakfast at Speights a few times, and look forward to more. Well cooked food, a simple menu, and covers good old kiwi fare. I love the liver and bacon breakfast.
The view out over the lake is magnificent!

This was our first night on holiday, and we had experienced Speights Ale Houses before with great results, but this one was really bad. Nice view, and seated quickly, but my meal was cold and dried out so I sent it back, and it came out again, cold a second time!! By the time I had my meal my party had all finished theirs, and all of the food was really average. Our drink orders were misplaced, and then when the bill came they charged us for drinks we already paid for previously at the bar. Dessert was nice at least, but I won't be going back that's for sure.

Really enjoyed our Speight's dinner here at this comfortable restaurant.
The pork ribs were amazing and..... HUGE!
As starter you have to try the garlic bread. A little (... huge actually) piece of paradise straight from the oven.
We'll absolutely pay a visit next time we're in New Zealand. We miss our stubbies here in Holland :-((
