First time here and it was great, this currently would one of the best restaurants in Auckland. The food & service was excellent, and the ice cream was amazing. Good wine list and staff who knew wine. This is one place that I am looking forward too going back too.

Last night we dined at Pure in Herne Bay for the first time.
This is not a large restaurant and for a Friday evening they were reasonably quiet (although admittedly the weather was awful).
I had a lovely “Beef fillet and braised cheeks with potato mash and confit vegetables”, and Jane had “Home-made potato gnocchi with roasted beetroot, peas and goats cheese” that she thoroughly enjoyed.
I accompanied my main with the recommended wine for the dish, a Shiraz that was excellent.
We had excellent service, the food was nicely presented, the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, the food was reasonably priced and we would happily return.

Wow, what a treat, we went there by recommendation and we experienced one of the best food indulgence we have encountered in Auckland. We showed up spontaniously on a Saturday night, not really expecting to get a seat since the place was packed with an upstairs private function and downstairs full. The only free space was outside, however with the heater on we felt really cosy. The service was ultra attentative and we were never left with empty plates, unfilled glasses or long waits. We shared startes, one being the serrano ham with marinated figs and goat cheese (yum) and the other chili prawns both to die for. The mains were the pork filet with black pudding on a mash and the other hand made gnocci in a delicate sauce. We could not even resist a dessert which was a trifle with lemongrass ice I had never tasted anything so deliciously before. The wine we tried and to the recommendations of the savy waitress was a Marsanne from Australia, a grape I never heard of before, but an absolut bonus to the anyway extraordinary meal and service. The menu is small but gets changed every now and then to incorporate new ideas and produce, the chef is swiss and I can't wait to go again and taste some new delights from their menue.

I came for my Mum's birthday and they chilled and opened a gifted bottle of champagne. (I'm not even sure if the venue is BYO. But they were very accomodating.) What a great restaurant. I think everything was homemade from the starter breads to the icecreams at dessert. The upstairs dining room has wonderful sea views which is great for special occasions. The chef here really knows what he/she is doing. I'll be back for sure as it was a wonderful dining experience.

Four people, 12 plates - every morsel gone!
We had the most fantastic evening, the service was outstanding and the food excellent - and this is from 4 people who eat out alot and can be somewhat fussy.... Apparently the lamb was to die for. 2 of us had the veal which was excellent, and the deserts were amazing. Will def be returning!

We went to Pure a couple of days ago as part of their Swiss week (the chef is Swiss) and their whole menu was gloriously Swiss (we lived over there for a few years). I chose the fondue of course, which was even better tasting than most of the fondues I actually had in Switzerland. All the deserts (I had vermiclles) and food etc were all extremely authentic and of course the food was exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again, there are not that many restaurants in Auckland with food this good. My only gripe was they had no Swiss beer!

My son and I dined at Pure today. It was my sons birthday and we were extremely impressed with the food and service.
Honestly this would be one of the best meals I have had in a long time.
I had the pork and my son had the venison both dishes were cooked to perfection and very tender. The combination of flavours were fantastic.
For desert, my son had the lime Brulei and I had the cheese board. My son always orders Brulei desserts when we dine out (as they are his favourite) said this was the best he had tasted.
I would recomend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience with excellent customer service.
Well done Pure.... we will return.

This is easily the nicest food I have eaten since living in Auckland. I had beef carpaccio to start, I loved it and had to fight off tasters from my fellow eating companions. I had snapper as my main, very well cooked with a delicious sauce and accompaniment. Dessert was fantastic, although my husband had the best dessert, ginger creme brulee. I think everyone should go here as the food was amazing. The service was great, unobtrusive and helpful, and a chat with the chef and owner at the end of the meal finished off a great and memorable evening. Go there to eat, you won't be disappointed!
