Was up in Nelson on business and took a few days break with family members. Fortunate to eat at a number of restaurants in the region. On Friday 8th January, had dinner at Turkish Delight. In Hardy Street, a few minutes walk from the Rutherford Hotel. Great atmosphere/decore with lovely fire places (not on when we were there) and authetic rugs/wall hangings etc.
Started with grilled haloumi (?spelling) cheese, this was the best I've had anywhere.
We ordered a number of main courses; Prawn Pizza - we thought this might be a bit risky pizza being more Italian than Tukish! but it arrived crisp with a stack of prawns, one of the best pizzas I've had.
Stuffed egg plant - which was again incredibly tasty.
Seafood pasta - which my daughter, who is a seafood pasta "officionado", declared really yummy and full of seafood.
Service was attentive, considering they were really busy.
Would definitely go back for a casual meal next time I'm in Nelson.

In Nelson on a Saturday night we wandered into Turkish Delight. We will be back next time we head down from Auckland. Authentic decor, with a big roaring fire with couches around it. Great food. Personal, friendly service and even a complimentary piece of yummy turkish delight afterwards. Can heartily recommend the mixed meat main. Succluent and delicious.
