Monsoon Poon (both Auckland + Wellington), Boulcott Street Bistro and Osteria del Toro are honouring all returned servicemen and women by inviting them to dine for free TODAY. More info + numbers to phone for reservations http://www.boulcottstreetbistro.co.nz/2013/04/returned-servicemen-women-eat-free-anzac-day/

Please share this with returned servicemen + women you know who are in those cities.

Sounds like Mike Egan is hoping this will be an annual event spread through NZ every Anzac day. Anyone else heard of similar offers elsehwere in NZ?

Hats off to Mike and the restaurants offering this. A genuinely fine gesture.

"Monsoon Poon, Boulcott Street Bistro and Osteria del Toro are honouring returned servicemen and women with a complimentary meal to thank them for their service."

3rd year they've made this offer. "All three restaurants are open from 5pm on Anzac Day."

Great to see this happening again. I know which restaurants will be at the top of my list when I'm in Wellington next.

Not free but seems to be open to anyone...
$1 Gunfire breakfast at CQ Wellington on Cuba St on Anzac Day morning from 8am - 10am. All proceeds to RSA. They've offered this in previous years too.

There is breakfast at the Thames Bowling Club for a gold coin. I'm assuming it was free for the veterans.

The service was very moving.

ANZAC Day 2016

Boulcott Street Bistro, Monsoon Poon and Osteria del Toro would like to recognise the many New Zealanders who have served abroad, and say thank you. These Wellington restaurants will be open for dinner from 5pm on Monday 25 April and extend the offer of a free meal to New Zealand service men and women who have served overseas on combat, combat-like or peace keeping, making or enforcement operations.

Share this with every person you know who has served, and be sure to thank them.
